Oncore & Refresh
Oncore and Refresh are two companies both run by Neil Chand, operating in the construction and renovation sector. Oncore handles service work; Refresh Renovation Central Auckland handles residential renovations under a franchise license Neil acquired in mid-2025. Two entities, two sets of books, one person trying to run both.
The Challenge
Running two companies means double the transactions, double the compliance obligations, and double the chance of something going wrong quietly. Neil’s job management software was importing costings into Xero but generating consistent errors that needed fixing every week. Bank reconciliations weren’t keeping pace. GST periods were arriving without a clean set of books to file from. He needed a bookkeeper with a consistent process and the initiative to stay ahead of problems, not wait to be asked.

- Bank reconciliation for both Oncore and Refresh, maintained every second day
- GST return preparation and filing (bi-monthly) across both entities via Xero
- Job management software import error management: reviewing, correcting, and manually uploading invoices as draft bills for Neil’s approval
- Weekly IRD portal monitoring: proactive flagging of notices and upcoming obligations
- Supplier invoice processing and bill management
